Thea Goldring is the 2023 Ricciardi Prize Winner

Master Drawings celebrates Thea Goldring, this year’s winner of the annual Ricciardi prize for her discovery of two previously unknown caches of over 100 natural history drawings by the eighteenth-century French draftsman Carême de Fécamp, placing them in context of developments in art and science during the Enlightenment.

Ms. Goldring is a PhD Candidate in the History of Art and Architecture at Harvard University and is currently completing her dissertation entitled “Matters of Life and Art: Art and French Materialism in the Second Half of the Eighteenth Century.”
