“Rein Dool. Drawings,” at our partner institution, Fondation Custodia
Rein Dool. Drawings, at our partner institution, Fondation Custodia, features about 50 works on paper by this contemporary Dutch artist. Dool’s work is varied and includes landscapes, portraits, still lifes and figures. Throughout his career, the artist has always alternated semi-abstract scenes with periods spent drawing landscapes from life. He is a keen traveler and has sketched in Burma, Scotland, and France. More recently he has steeped himself in the landscapes of Spain. The exhibition, on view until September 17, ends with some recent sheets; at the age of 90, the artist and draftsman is still at work.
