Jane Turner On “Reunited” Drawings
Hear Jane Turner, editor, Master Drawings and Head of the Print Room at the Rijkmuseum, talk about drawings that have been separated, but through detective work and scholarship, have been reunited.
One example Ms.Turner shares is Cornelius Visscher’s “Study of a Skull, Facing Left.” It is the focus of an article written by John Hawley, an Associate Specialist with the Department of Old Master Drawings at Christie’s, and Marleen Ram, the first Junior Curator of Drawings in a joint program between the Rijkmuseum and Fondation Custodia. The article, “Reconstructing a Cut-up Sheet by Cornelis Visscher,” can be found in Master Drawings, Volume 56, Issue 2: Summer 2018.
