“An Inventive and Creating Genius:” Drawings by Giovanni Battista Piranesi

Join John Marciari, Charles W. Engelhard Curator, at our partner institution, the Morgan Library & Museum in New York, and associate editor of Master Drawings, for “‘An Inventive and Creating Genius:’” Drawings by Giovanni Battista Piranesi.” Marciari will look at drawings across Piranesi’s career while examining the distinctive aspects of the artist’s graphic style and the use and reuse of drawings in his busy workshop. Taking place at the Morgan on Friday, March 10 at 6:30pm, the talk is free but advance registration is required. It is in conjunction with the exhibition Sublime Ideas: Drawings by Giovanni Battista Piranesi which will be open at 5:30pm for program attendees.
