Salutes Rosie Razzall,

Winner of the Second Annual

Ricciardi Prize

$5,000 award given for the best new and unpublished article on a drawings topic (of any period) by a scholar under the age of 40.

Razzall, Curator of Prints and Drawings for the Royal Collection Trust (Windsor Castle), won for her paper, “Copying Gainsborough: Paul Sandby, Sharing, Sociability and Self-Fashioning.”  Read about her illuminating insights in our Summer 2020 issue.

MASTER DRAWINGS also congratulates Marco Simone Bolzoni and Maud van Suylen, the Ricciardi Prize runners-up.

Bolzoni, curator of Old Master and 19th-century Drawings of the Leon and Debra Black collection, New York, was acknowledged for his paper “Rome Looking at Venice: Taddeo and Federico Zuccaro and the Artistic Debate on Colorito and Disegno.”

Suylen, Junior Curator of Drawings at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, was recognized for her essay on “Drawings of Interiors by Thomas Wijck.
