Couldn’t be there in person? Watch the Video of our Fourth Annual Symposium, “Master Drawings: Then and Now!”
The Second Annual Ricciardi Essay Prize winner, Rosie Razzall, presents her outstanding and original essay “Copying Gainsborough: Paul Sandby, Sharing, Sociability and Self-Fashioning.” In her winning work, Razzall, Curator of Prints and Drawings for the Royal Collection Trust (Windsor Castle), examines the link between the figure drawings of Paul Sandby and his close contemporary, Thomas Gainsborough.
The evening also celebrated the beginnings of MASTER DRAWINGS nearly sixty years ago. Listen as Editor Jane Turner discusses the career and legacy of the journal’s remarkable founding female editor, Felice Stampfle. In a salute to Ms. Stampfle’s mentorship of young curators, the journal announces the launch of a new spring writing seminar.
